About Andrew Hodson

I am the youngest with in a golfing family which has spanned three generations. My grandfather started the tradition in England (Bert Hodson-1931 Ryder Cup Team) and has since passed on his knowledge and love of the game. Although I did not follow in the steps of my father and grandfather on a professional golfing level, my love of the game and commitment to accurately fit equipment has only grown. Even as a kid I enjoyed re-gripping clubs which eventually led to refinishing wood heads, re-shafting, and now has culminated in more detailed custom club fitting, building, and repair.

Custom Laser Engraving on all matrix shafts now available @ n/c

Matrix composite shafts is now offering custom laser engraving on all its shafts. As a premier Matrix dealer, Hodson Golf will be offering this service for free on all matrix shafts when requested. I attached a photo of Eliza’s irons that I made and had them built the day after I fit her.

Hodson Golf is pleased to announce our continued relationship with aerotech as a proud dealer/distributor of their ugnequaled steelfiber shafts. The steelfiber graphite/composite shafts was our #1 composite iron reshaft last year and only see that trend continuing in 2013. To be used by the top money winner on the pga tour last year say’s it all. Give us a call to set up a fitting to see what you think. With 4 different weight options and 5 flex’s there is a shaft to benefit all range of golfers regardless of skell.

“When I switched to Aerotech Golf shafts, I was looking for a lighter weight iron shaft that could provide me with consistent ball flight and spot on distance control. Aerotech’s SteelFiber shafts fit the bill perfectly. The SteelFiber technology has allowed me to take advantage of all the benefits of a graphite shaft yet still maintain complete control over my golf ball.”

Great video on mizuno’s new 825’s vs Rocketbladez irons w/ trackman

For those of you who don’t know it Taylor Made ic the 800lb gorilla in golf in terms of adverising and marketing. This is a great video breaking down Taylor Made’s claim to have the longest iron in golf. Basically a new mizuno 825 6 iron was lengthened and the loft strengthened to match the same specs of the rocketbladez 6 iron. No shock to see the 825 went further. Long story short, if you build a 5 iron and simply stamp it as a 6 iron are you really hitting the ball further? So what happens when you have a 25 yard gap between your pw and sw – are you now forced to carry 2 gap wedges?
