So I had a chance to see the new Callaway Big Bertha and Big Bertha Alpha. This is a great looking driver which has an industry first – the ability to alter the Center of Gravity within the head to better calibrate spin rate. Within the center of the head there is an “Adjustable Gravity Core” which is about 1.5″ in length and weighs 12.5 grams (one end has a Tungsten tip which weighs 10.5 grams). Moving more weight towards the crown (raising the CG) will produce a more penetrating ball flight with lower spin (robotic testing indicated approximately 300 rpm lower spin). Although the driver only comes in a 9 degree loft the adjustable hosel can give all golfers a wide range of options for optimally fitting this driver. This bad boy also comes with the “real deal” Fubuki Zeta Tour – Great Stuff Callaway! We should have these in stock early February.
Andrew is proud to sit on the National Fitters Board with Callaway Golf and has been proudly designated as one of the top 100 fitting centers by Golf Digest ever since this prestigious designation began back in 2010.
